On today’s WTJX Radio NewsFeed: The University of the Virgin Islands has announced tuition and fee increases for the 2025–2026 academic year. A St. Croix man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged armed home invasion and assault at the Mutual Homes housing community on Sunday night. Lawmakers rejected Governor Albert Bryan Jr.’s proposal to create a committee to explore a self-funded health and dental insurance plan for government employees and retirees, following a debate over financial risk, oversight, and the exclusion of the Health Insurance board (GESC) from the process. We speak with Government House Communication Director Richard Motta, following the Virgin Islands Daily News publishing a letter revealing that reporter Suzanne Carlson has been banned from covering Government House events. Marcellina Ventura-Douglas

Marcellina Ventura-Douglas is the Radio News Reporter for WTJX-FM, 93.1. She was born and raised on the island of St. Croix, where her grandfather founded the historic newspaper, The St. Croix Avis. Marcellina earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of the Virgin Islands, also working in the office of Senator Shawn-Michael Malone while she attended school. After leaving Malone's office, Marcellina went on to serve as program director of Vivid Streaming before working for the Virgin Islands National Guard as a Family Assistance Center Specialist from 2017 to 2018, where she supported service members and their families following Hurricanes Irma and Maria. She then joined WTJX-TV, Channel 12 as a producer, but was soon tapped to switch to WTJX-FM to deliver local evening news through the WTJX NewsFeed, airing every weekday at 5:00 pm on 93.1 FM and available on demand, wherever you get your podcasts.   <br/>Email: mvdouglas@wtjx.org<br/>Phone: (340) 474-1682
