On today’s WTJX Radio NewsFeed: The government has acquired 2,469 acres at Maroon Ridge and Annaly Bay on St. Croix, officials call it the largest and most meaningful land purchase in Virgin Islands history. A bomb threat forced the closure of both public high schools on St. Croix today, while an apparent sick out by school monitors later forced the closure of all public schools on the island. The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority has completed emergency repairs to the Cancryn Bridge bypass pump station. Listen to these stories and more.

Marcellina Ventura-Douglas is the Radio News Reporter for WTJX-FM, 93.1.&nbsp;She was born and raised on the island of St. Croix, where her grandfather founded&nbsp;the&nbsp;historic&nbsp;newspaper, The&nbsp;St. Croix Avis.&nbsp;Marcellina earned her&nbsp;bachelor’s degree in criminal justice&nbsp;from the University of the Virgin Islands,&nbsp;also&nbsp;working in the office of Senator Shawn-Michael Malone while she attended school.&nbsp;After leaving Malone's office,&nbsp;Marcellina&nbsp;went on to serve as program director of Vivid Streaming before working for the Virgin Islands National Guard as a Family Assistance Center Specialist from 2017 to 2018, where she supported service members and their families following Hurricanes Irma and Maria.&nbsp;She then joined WTJX-TV, Channel 12 as a producer, but was soon&nbsp;tapped to switch to WTJX-FM to deliver local evening news through the WTJX NewsFeed, airing every weekday at 5:00 pm on 93.1 FM and available on demand, wherever you get your&nbsp;podcasts.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br/>Email: mvdouglas@wtjx.org<br/>Phone: (340) 474-1682
