On today’s WTJX Radio NewsFeed: Lawmakers advanced a resolution that would honor Soca artist Dennis “Pumpa” Liburd that would rename the main entrance to Peters Rest Road and bestow upon him the symbolic key to the territory for his cultural contributions. The federal civil lawsuit naming delegate to Congress Stacey Plaskett as a defendant has officially been dismissed with prejudice in New York by a federal judge. A physical altercation between leadership in the St. Croix Federation of Teachers led to a court case that has been dismissed without prejudice, leaving the door open for refiling if future incidents arise between the union president and vice president. Marcellina Ventura-Douglas is the Radio News Reporter for WTJX-FM, 93.1.&nbsp;She was born and raised on the island of St. Croix, where her grandfather founded&nbsp;the&nbsp;historic&nbsp;newspaper, The&nbsp;St. Croix Avis.&nbsp;Marcellina earned her&nbsp;bachelor’s degree in criminal justice&nbsp;from the University of the Virgin Islands,&nbsp;also&nbsp;working in the office of Senator Shawn-Michael Malone while she attended school.&nbsp;After leaving Malone's office,&nbsp;Marcellina&nbsp;went on to serve as program director of Vivid Streaming before working for the Virgin Islands National Guard as a Family Assistance Center Specialist from 2017 to 2018, where she supported service members and their families following Hurricanes Irma and Maria.&nbsp;She then joined WTJX-TV, Channel 12 as a producer, but was soon&nbsp;tapped to switch to WTJX-FM to deliver local evening news through the WTJX NewsFeed, airing every weekday at 5:00 pm on 93.1 FM and available on demand, wherever you get your&nbsp;podcasts.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br/>Email: mvdouglas@wtjx.org<br/>Phone: (340) 474-1682
