On today’s WTJX Radio NewsFeed: A small navy-type vessel docked at the Ann E. Abramson Marine Facility on St. Croix prompted local speculation regarding military presence on the island. We speak with a Port Authority official regarding the ship. The sister of a man who was found dead behind the Juan F. Luis Hospital in January filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the Virgin Islands Government Hospital and Health Facilities Corporation and an emergency room doctor, alleging negligence and malpractice. Police on St. Croix have arrested a mother accused of child abuse after investigators say she forced her 12-year-old son’s hand over a lit gas stove, causing second-degree burns. Despite concerns over limited competition in the procurement process, the Virgin Islands Port Authority board approved a $22.6 million bid from Island Roads Corporation for urgent upgrades at the Crown Bay Terminal.
