On today’s WTJX Radio NewsFeed: We speak with Educational Complex senior Yomar Ortiz, who claimed his second Golden Gloves title in Florida. The Virgin Islands is grieving the passing of celebrated author and cultural historian Richard Schrader Sr. who passed away at the age of 90; we speak with his son, Joseph. A flood advisory has been issued across the territory as heavy rains and thunderstorms create hazardous weather conditions that are expected again tomorrow. Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Sylvester Christopher Jr., who was killed in an apparent ambush on St. Croix today that also left another man wounded. Marcellina Ventura-Douglas is the Radio News Reporter for WTJX-FM, 93.1.She was born and raised on the island of St. Croix, where her grandfather founded&nbsp;the&nbsp;historic&nbsp;newspaper, The&nbsp;St. Croix Avis.&nbsp;Marcellina earned her&nbsp;bachelor’s degree in criminal justice&nbsp;from the University of the Virgin Islands,&nbsp;also&nbsp;working in the office of Senator Shawn-Michael Malone while she attended school.&nbsp;After leaving Malone's office,&nbsp;Marcellina&nbsp;went on to serve as program director of Vivid Streaming before working for the Virgin Islands National Guard as a Family Assistance Center Specialist from 2017 to 2018, where she supported service members and their families following Hurricanes Irma and Maria.&nbsp;She then joined WTJX-TV, Channel 12 as a producer, but was soon&nbsp;tapped to switch to WTJX-FM to deliver local evening news through the WTJX NewsFeed, airing every weekday at 5:00 pm on 93.1 FM and available on demand, wherever you get your&nbsp;podcasts.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br/>Email: mvdouglas@wtjx.org<br/>Phone: (340) 474-1682
