On today’s WTJX Radio NewsFeed: Following the news that SNAP benefits will be disrupted in November, Senate President Milton Potter announced plans to introduce emergency legislation to use the Rainy Day Fund to keep food assistance and social programs running during the federal government shutdown. The Virgin Islands Department of Health is assuring residents that the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program remains fully operational despite the federal government shutdown. Lawmakers advanced a bill to create an expedited building permit process for developers, aiming to speed up construction and attract investment. Senator Kenneth Gittens sponsored the measure, but DPNR Commissioner Jean-Pierre Oriol warned it’s incomplete and lacks key details. Listen to these stories and more.
