On today’s WTJX Radio NewsFeed: Governor Albert Bryan Jr. says he supports protecting residents from rising transportation costs as the Virgin Islands Port Authority considers fee increases; he suggests discounts for St. John residents and fees for non-locals traveling to the British Virgin Islands. Delegate to Congress Stacey Plaskett, meanwhile, is urging VIPA to keep affordability at the forefront, warning that steep fees could burden commuters. A suspected pollutant discharge near Prosperity Farm and Distillery, flowing into the ocean off the Ethel McIntosh Memorial Drive (Mahogany Road), prompted an investigation by DPNR whose tests confirmed unsafe water conditions. Our contributing reporter Isabelle Teare recaps the proceedings in the trail of former Virgin Islands Senator Steven Payne Sr. who has been found guilty of sexual battery involving a minor. Listen to these stories and more.
