On today’s WTJX Radio NewsFeed: Police have taken six students into custody related to a string of bomb threats targeting public schools as Police Commissioner Mario Brooks warns more arrests are likely. VIDE has since imposed a mandatory cell-phone ban at Lockhart K-8 after another threat was called in this morning. A federal judge has denied former Sports, Parks, and Recreation Commissioner Calvert White and businessman Benjamin Hendricks requests for an acquittal or a new trial. A St. Croix man is facing multiple felony charges, including attempted murder, kidnapping, and domestic violence assault, after police say he terrorized his partner with a knife, slashed her tires, and trapped her inside their home before she escaped to call for help. Marcellina Ventura-Douglas is the Radio News Reporter for WTJX-FM, 93.1. Born and raised on St. Croix, Ventura-Douglas graduated from the University of the Virgin Islands, where she received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. While at UVI, she worked in the office of Senator Shawn-Michael Malone before beginning her career in radio. Ventura-Douglas fell in love with radio growing up, when she and her father would spend every morning and afternoon listening to local radio news legend, Alvin G. After leaving Senator Malone's office, she became the program director of Vivid Streaming. She then joined WTJX-TV, Channel 12 as a producer. Soon after, she was tapped to switch to WTJX-FM to present an evening news.
