On today’s WTJX Radio NewsFeed: We speak with VI Government Hospital & Health Facilities Corporation Board Chairman Dr. Jerry Smith, following the medical staff of the Schneider Regional Medical Center expressing no confidence in the board's process and actions related to the administrative consolidation the territory’s hospitals. After being cited and fined in November 2025 for operating outside its approved business license, Attorney Kevin Rames, counsel for Prosperity Farm Distillery, defended the company’s operations before lawmakers, arguing its distilling, tastings, and events fall within the territory’s agro-tourism and agricultural processing laws. Marcellina Ventura-Douglas

Marcellina Ventura-Douglas is the Radio News Reporter for WTJX-FM, 93.1. She was born and raised on the island of St. Croix, where her grandfather founded the historic newspaper, The St. Croix Avis. Marcellina earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of the Virgin Islands, also working in the office of Senator Shawn-Michael Malone while she attended school. After leaving Malone's office, Marcellina went on to serve as program director of Vivid Streaming before working for the Virgin Islands National Guard as a Family Assistance Center Specialist from 2017 to 2018, where she supported service members and their families following Hurricanes Irma and Maria. She then joined WTJX-TV, Channel 12 as a producer, but was soon tapped to switch to WTJX-FM to deliver local evening news through the WTJX NewsFeed, airing every weekday at 5:00 pm on 93.1 FM and available on demand, wherever you get your podcasts.   <br/>Email: mvdouglas@wtjx.org<br/>Phone: (340) 474-1682
