On today’s WTJX Radio NewsFeed: A homicide investigation is underway on St. Thomas after 32-year-old Desie Henry Jr., who was on trial in a kidnapping and torture case, was shot and killed this morning in the Paul M. Pearson Gardens housing community. Visiting District Judge Mark Kearney set a trial date in the federal fraud case against Davidson and Sasha Charlemagne. The Virgin Islands Folklife Festival is returning this week with a series of events celebrating the territory’s music, storytelling, crafts, and cultural traditions during Virgin Islands History Month. Marcellina Ventura-Douglas

Marcellina Ventura-Douglas is the Radio News Reporter for WTJX-FM, 93.1. She was born and raised on the island of St. Croix, where her grandfather founded the historic newspaper, The St. Croix Avis. Marcellina earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of the Virgin Islands, also working in the office of Senator Shawn-Michael Malone while she attended school. After leaving Malone's office, Marcellina went on to serve as program director of Vivid Streaming before working for the Virgin Islands National Guard as a Family Assistance Center Specialist from 2017 to 2018, where she supported service members and their families following Hurricanes Irma and Maria. She then joined WTJX-TV, Channel 12 as a producer, but was soon tapped to switch to WTJX-FM to deliver local evening news through the WTJX NewsFeed, airing every weekday at 5:00 pm on 93.1 FM and available on demand, wherever you get your podcasts.   <br/>Email: mvdouglas@wtjx.org<br/>Phone: (340) 474-1682
