On today’s WTJX Radio NewsFeed: UVI’s 2026 St. Croix commencement saw nearly 300 students graduate across more than 30-degree programs, while the university also awarded an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree to longtime St. Croix Avis publisher Rena Brodhurst. Police on St. Thomas are investigating the territory’s 12th homicide of the year after 45-year-old Luciano Warrell Jr. was fatally shot in the Estate Tutu area. The V.I. Justice Department’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit has arrested a St. Thomas woman, accusing her of financially exploiting and neglecting an elderly Alzheimer’s patient.

Marcellina Ventura-Douglas is the Radio News Reporter for WTJX-FM, 93.1.She was born and raised on the island of St. Croix, where her grandfather founded&nbsp;the&nbsp;historic&nbsp;newspaper, The&nbsp;St. Croix Avis.&nbsp;Marcellina earned her&nbsp;bachelor’s degree in criminal justice&nbsp;from the University of the Virgin Islands,&nbsp;also&nbsp;working in the office of Senator Shawn-Michael Malone while she attended school.&nbsp;After leaving Malone's office,&nbsp;Marcellina&nbsp;went on to serve as program director of Vivid Streaming before working for the Virgin Islands National Guard as a Family Assistance Center Specialist from 2017 to 2018, where she supported service members and their families following Hurricanes Irma and Maria.&nbsp;She then joined WTJX-TV, Channel 12 as a producer, but was soon&nbsp;tapped to switch to WTJX-FM to deliver local evening news through the WTJX NewsFeed, airing every weekday at 5:00 pm on 93.1 FM and available on demand, wherever you get your&nbsp;podcasts.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br/>Email: mvdouglas@wtjx.org<br/>Phone: (340) 474-1682
