On today’s WTJX Radio NewsFeed: The Virgin Islands is sending off a standout Class of 2026, as the St. Croix Educational Complex graduates with a cohort of 217 students marked by record honors, STEM and police pre‑cadet achievements. St. Croix Central High School celebrated its “Iconic Class of 2026,” sending off 152 graduates — nearly half of them honor students — after a year marked by major academic gains, undefeated basketball seasons, and new honor societies. Virgin Islands standouts Michelle Smith, Sofia Swindell, and Saraiah Walkes turned in big performances on the collegiate championship stage, elevating the territory’s growing footprint in national track and field. New court filings show Brett “Mac” McClafferty is asking a judge to let him travel to St. Croix to campaign for delegate to Congress while he awaits trial on local fraud charges. Marcellina Ventura-Douglas is the Radio News Reporter for WTJX-FM, 93.1.She was born and raised on the island of St. Croix, where her grandfather founded&nbsp;the&nbsp;historic&nbsp;newspaper, The&nbsp;St. Croix Avis.&nbsp;Marcellina earned her&nbsp;bachelor’s degree in criminal justice&nbsp;from the University of the Virgin Islands,&nbsp;also&nbsp;working in the office of Senator Shawn-Michael Malone while she attended school.&nbsp;After leaving Malone's office,&nbsp;Marcellina&nbsp;went on to serve as program director of Vivid Streaming before working for the Virgin Islands National Guard as a Family Assistance Center Specialist from 2017 to 2018, where she supported service members and their families following Hurricanes Irma and Maria.&nbsp;She then joined WTJX-TV, Channel 12 as a producer, but was soon&nbsp;tapped to switch to WTJX-FM to deliver local evening news through the WTJX NewsFeed, airing every weekday at 5:00 pm on 93.1 FM and available on demand, wherever you get your&nbsp;podcasts.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br/>Email: mvdouglas@wtjx.org<br/>Phone: (340) 474-1682
