On today’s WTJX Radio NewsFeed: Senator Kurt Vialet is demanding immediate action from the Departments of Agriculture and Human Services to process long-delayed Act 8995 pay raises for some of the government’s lowest-paid employees, calling the months-long holdup an unacceptable failure of accountability and respect. A St. Croix woman is facing attempted murder and domestic violence-related charges after she allegedly struck the father of her child intentionally with her vehicle during a confrontation in Christiansted town. During USVI 2026 Economic Development Summit, organized by the Office of Senator Hubert L. Frederick, Port Hamilton Refining and Transportation Director David Johnson proclaimed that the St. Croix refinery will restart and could become a power provider for the island. Marcellina Ventura-Douglas is the Radio News Reporter for WTJX-FM, 93.1.She was born and raised on the island of St. Croix, where her grandfather founded&nbsp;the&nbsp;historic&nbsp;newspaper, The&nbsp;St. Croix Avis.&nbsp;Marcellina earned her&nbsp;bachelor’s degree in criminal justice&nbsp;from the University of the Virgin Islands,&nbsp;also&nbsp;working in the office of Senator Shawn-Michael Malone while she attended school.&nbsp;After leaving Malone's office,&nbsp;Marcellina&nbsp;went on to serve as program director of Vivid Streaming before working for the Virgin Islands National Guard as a Family Assistance Center Specialist from 2017 to 2018, where she supported service members and their families following Hurricanes Irma and Maria.&nbsp;She then joined WTJX-TV, Channel 12 as a producer, but was soon&nbsp;tapped to switch to WTJX-FM to deliver local evening news through the WTJX NewsFeed, airing every weekday at 5:00 pm on 93.1 FM and available on demand, wherever you get your&nbsp;podcasts.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br/>Email: mvdouglas@wtjx.org<br/>Phone: (340) 474-1682
