On today’s WTJX Radio NewsFeed: The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority hosted its first Lineworker Exhibition & Festival at the Agricultural Fairgrounds to showcase the skills, safety practices, and everyday work of its linemen, while also honoring crews who helped restore power in Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa. District Judge Mark Kearny upheld the public corruption convictions of former Police Commissioner Ray Martinez and former OMB Director Jenifer O’Neal, rejecting their efforts to overturn the jury’s verdicts ahead of their respective June 9 and 11 sentencing. The Virgin Islands Parole Board is preparing to hear parole applications from 35 inmates housed in correctional facilities in Mississippi, Virginia, and the territory during a week of hearings scheduled for late June. Marcellina Ventura-Douglas is the Radio News Reporter for WTJX-FM, 93.1.She was born and raised on the island of St. Croix, where her grandfather founded&nbsp;the&nbsp;historic&nbsp;newspaper, The&nbsp;St. Croix Avis.&nbsp;Marcellina earned her&nbsp;bachelor’s degree in criminal justice&nbsp;from the University of the Virgin Islands,&nbsp;also&nbsp;working in the office of Senator Shawn-Michael Malone while she attended school.&nbsp;After leaving Malone's office,&nbsp;Marcellina&nbsp;went on to serve as program director of Vivid Streaming before working for the Virgin Islands National Guard as a Family Assistance Center Specialist from 2017 to 2018, where she supported service members and their families following Hurricanes Irma and Maria.&nbsp;She then joined WTJX-TV, Channel 12 as a producer, but was soon&nbsp;tapped to switch to WTJX-FM to deliver local evening news through the WTJX NewsFeed, airing every weekday at 5:00 pm on 93.1 FM and available on demand, wherever you get your&nbsp;podcasts.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br/>Email: mvdouglas@wtjx.org<br/>Phone: (340) 474-1682
