On today’s WTJX Radio NewsFeed: Frustrated residents took their concerns directly to lawmakers today, staging a protest outside the Capitol Building on St. Thomas and demanding accountability from the Water and Power Authority. A coordinated rescue operation involving the Coast Guard and local emergency responders saved a boater after a catamaran caught fire and sank south of St. Thomas. Governor Albert Bryan Jr. is bringing lawmakers, horsemen, and gaming officials to the table on June 12 as the administration seeks public input and stakeholder feedback on a proposed agreement to restore horse racing on St. Croix. Marcellina Ventura-Douglas is the Radio News Reporter for WTJX-FM, 93.1.She was born and raised on the island of St. Croix, where her grandfather founded&nbsp;the&nbsp;historic&nbsp;newspaper, The&nbsp;St. Croix Avis.&nbsp;Marcellina earned her&nbsp;bachelor’s degree in criminal justice&nbsp;from the University of the Virgin Islands,&nbsp;also&nbsp;working in the office of Senator Shawn-Michael Malone while she attended school.&nbsp;After leaving Malone's office,&nbsp;Marcellina&nbsp;went on to serve as program director of Vivid Streaming before working for the Virgin Islands National Guard as a Family Assistance Center Specialist from 2017 to 2018, where she supported service members and their families following Hurricanes Irma and Maria.&nbsp;She then joined WTJX-TV, Channel 12 as a producer, but was soon&nbsp;tapped to switch to WTJX-FM to deliver local evening news through the WTJX NewsFeed, airing every weekday at 5:00 pm on 93.1 FM and available on demand, wherever you get your&nbsp;podcasts.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br/>Email: mvdouglas@wtjx.org<br/>Phone: (340) 474-1682
