On today’s WTJX Radio NewsFeed: Former OMB Director Jenifer O’Neal has terminated her attorney, Dale Lionel Smith, and filed an appeal of her federal corruption conviction and seven-year prison sentence, while her co-defendant, former Police Commissioner Ray Martinez, has also formally appealed his conviction and 10-year sentence in the Mon Ethos public corruption case. Following three fatal shootings in a single day and five homicides within a week, Virgin Islands officials held a special press briefing urging residents to help investigators solve a growing number of gun violence cases. The Virgin Islands Port Authority has asked for permission to intervene in the government's eviction case against Island Laundries, arguing that legislation transferring ownership of the Subbase parcels to VIPA gives the Authority a direct legal interest in the dispute.
