On today’s WTJX Radio NewsFeed: The department of Property and Procurement will host a virtual public hearing on the proposed Water Island hotel and marina development on Wednesday, the hearing follows legislative testimony from residents who called for greater transparency, stronger safeguards, and additional public input before the project moves forward. Kahiyla Charles, 21, has been arrested in connection with the violent assault captured on video outside the Red Hook ferry terminal following St. John Celebration festivities. Marcellina Ventura-Douglas is the Radio News Reporter for WTJX-FM, 93.1.She was born and raised on the island of St. Croix, where her grandfather founded the historic newspaper, The St. Croix Avis. Marcellina earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of the Virgin Islands, also working in the office of Senator Shawn-Michael Malone while she attended school. After leaving Malone's office, Marcellina went on to serve as program director of Vivid Streaming before working for the Virgin Islands National Guard as a Family Assistance Center Specialist from 2017 to 2018, where she supported service members and their families following Hurricanes Irma and Maria. She then joined WTJX-TV, Channel 12 as a producer, but was soon tapped to switch to WTJX-FM to deliver local evening news through the WTJX NewsFeed, airing every weekday at 5:00 pm on 93.1 FM and available on demand, wherever you get your podcasts.  <br/>Email: mvdouglas@wtjx.org<br/>Phone: (340) 474-1682
