On today’s WTJX Radio NewsFeed: Senator Kenneth Gittens is seeking help from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to restore Fort Frederik Beach on St. Croix, proposing a breakwater project to combat erosion and revive fishing and recreation in the area. Governor Albert Bryan Jr. says his administration is working to establish a job site where residents can apply to serve on various boards across the territory. This follows the most recent St. Thomas/St. John Historic Preservation Committee once again struggling to reach quorum. Chief District Court Judge Robert Molloy ruled the death penalty is off the table in the case against Richardson Dangleben Jr., while also rejecting his bid to dismiss several territorial charges. Marcellina Ventura-Douglas is the Radio News Reporter for WTJX-FM, 93.1.She was born and raised on the island of St. Croix, where her grandfather founded the historic newspaper, The St. Croix Avis. Marcellina earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of the Virgin Islands, also working in the office of Senator Shawn-Michael Malone while she attended school. After leaving Malone's office, Marcellina went on to serve as program director of Vivid Streaming before working for the Virgin Islands National Guard as a Family Assistance Center Specialist from 2017 to 2018, where she supported service members and their families following Hurricanes Irma and Maria. She then joined WTJX-TV, Channel 12 as a producer, but was soon tapped to switch to WTJX-FM to deliver local evening news through the WTJX NewsFeed, airing every weekday at 5:00 pm on 93.1 FM and available on demand, wherever you get your podcasts.  <br/>Email: mvdouglas@wtjx.org<br/>Phone: (340) 474-1682
