On today’s WTJX Radio NewsFeed: The Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center on St. Croix has signed an agreement with the U.S. Army to help connect veterans with jobs through the Army’s PaYS program. Police on St. Croix have arrested a 47-year-old man in connection with an assault at the old American Paradise gym that left a man hospitalized with a broken arm and multiple injuries. Public schools in the St. Thomas/St. John District were dismissed early today due to a district power outage; we speak with Shanell Petersen, director of corporate communications for WAPA, regarding today’s outage and comments made by Governor Albert Bryan Jr about the Authority’s conversion to propane. Marcellina Ventura-Douglas is the Radio News Reporter for WTJX-FM, 93.1.&nbsp;She was born and raised on the island of St. Croix, where her grandfather founded&nbsp;the&nbsp;historic&nbsp;newspaper, The&nbsp;St. Croix Avis.&nbsp;Marcellina earned her&nbsp;bachelor’s degree in criminal justice&nbsp;from the University of the Virgin Islands,&nbsp;also&nbsp;working in the office of Senator Shawn-Michael Malone while she attended school.&nbsp;After leaving Malone's office,&nbsp;Marcellina&nbsp;went on to serve as program director of Vivid Streaming before working for the Virgin Islands National Guard as a Family Assistance Center Specialist from 2017 to 2018, where she supported service members and their families following Hurricanes Irma and Maria.&nbsp;She then joined WTJX-TV, Channel 12 as a producer, but was soon&nbsp;tapped to switch to WTJX-FM to deliver local evening news through the WTJX NewsFeed, airing every weekday at 5:00 pm on 93.1 FM and available on demand, wherever you get your&nbsp;podcasts.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br/>Email: mvdouglas@wtjx.org<br/>Phone: (340) 474-1682
