On today’s WTJX Radio NewsFeed: Ulla F. Muller Elementary 3rd grader Malaya Petersen won the STT/STJ district title and Free Will Baptist 8th grader Rayan Felix claimed top honors on St. Croix in the 2026 District Spelling Bee. WTJX’s Isabelle Teare had the honor of serving as one of the pronouncers on St. Thomas and spoke with Malaya following her victory. Virgin Islands flags are ordered to fly at half-staff through February 26 in honor of civil rights leader Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr., who passed away at the age of 84. Former VIPD Commissioner Ray Martinez must report to U.S. Marshals tomorrow morning after Judge Mark Kearney rejected his bid to postpone his federal self-surrender date. Marcellina Ventura-Douglas is the Radio News Reporter for WTJX-FM, 93.1.She was born and raised on the island of St. Croix, where her grandfather founded the historic newspaper, The St. Croix Avis. Marcellina earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of the Virgin Islands, also working in the office of Senator Shawn-Michael Malone while she attended school. After leaving Malone's office, Marcellina went on to serve as program director of Vivid Streaming before working for the Virgin Islands National Guard as a Family Assistance Center Specialist from 2017 to 2018, where she supported service members and their families following Hurricanes Irma and Maria. She then joined WTJX-TV, Channel 12 as a producer, but was soon tapped to switch to WTJX-FM to deliver local evening news through the WTJX NewsFeed, airing every weekday at 5:00 pm on 93.1 FM and available on demand, wherever you get your podcasts.  <br/>Email: mvdouglas@wtjx.org<br/>Phone: (340) 474-1682
